Citron Hygiene is proud to partner with Aunt Flow to improve access to menstrual hygiene in Canada’s indigenous communities.
Since 2021, Aunt Flow has donated over 6 million period products to menstruators through their social impact program
The Native Women’s Association of Canada (NWAC) is a National Indigenous Organization dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of Indigenous women, girls, Two-Spirit, transgender, and gender-diverse individuals in Canada. It encompasses diverse Indigenous groups such as First Nations, Métis, and Inuit and works to advance the social, economic, cultural, and political prosperity of these communities.
Since launching the program in August 2023, we’ve donated over 9,000 pads and tampons in Canada through NWAC, with more donations planned for 2023 and 2024.
Citron Hygiene is the exclusive Canadian distributor for Aunt Flow, which manufactures and sells menstrual product dispensers and organic, sustainably produced, single-use plastic and chemical-free pads and tampons. Aunt Flow dispensers do not take payment, so schools and businesses that purchase Aunt Flow are choosing to offer period products to their washroom users free of charge.
These purchases are what fuel the donation program for underserved Indigenous communities on Canadian soil. A percentage of all Aunt Flow product sales in Canada will be donated for distribution to menstruators in need.*
*A percentage of all Aunt Flow sales made in the U.S. through Citron Hygiene will be donated to Aunt Flow’s U.S.-based donation program.
Installing an Aunt Flow dispenser is straightforward, especially when a Citron Hygiene Technician does it for you. Wall-mounted models come with clear instructions, or our expert technicians can do the install for you.
Yes, Aunt Flow dispensers are designed for ease-of-filling. Aunt Flow is also committed to product availability. We maintain a steady stock of 100% organic cotton pads and tampons for timely refills for your menstrual product dispenser.
Aunt Flow dispensers are designed specifically for their organic, eco-friendly menstrual products. We encourage using Aunt Flow products to support menstrual equity and reduce waste with sustainable feminine hygiene options.
Menstrual equity is the affordability, accessibility and safety of menstrual products and menstrual health education for all people. Period dignity is a state where menstruators can have and manage their periods without shame or stigma. With menstrual equity comes period dignity—all menstruators should be able to easily access period products they need, safely and hygienically dispose of period products, have access to proper handwashing facilities, and participate fully in school, work, and social activities regardless of menstruation.
NWAC’s mission is to advocate for and inspire women, girls, 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, and the families of many Indigenous nations. We rely on NWAC to identify indigenous communities that need greater access to menstrual hygiene.
We are not currently accepting monetary donations but consider subscribing to NWAC’s Shining the Spotlight e-newsletter to get news about their various fundraising efforts. Click here to learn more about the newsletter and subscribe.
Aunt Flow runs a version of this program in the United States. Any Aunt Flow purchases made through Citron Hygiene in the U.S. will feed this arm of the program. Click here to learn more about Aunt Flow’s U.S. donation program.
