Position Summary:

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the role of the Vertical Development Specialist is to prospect and close new business within the Food Service and Hospitality industry. The primary focus of the C3 Specialist is to sell the Citron Complete (C3) service model which integrates Citron’s 3 primary lines of business: Chemical, Hygiene and Pest Management. The Vertical Development Executive serves as the primary contact for decision-makers and leads the sales process. At Citron Hygiene we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is a capable of building key relationships with customers with proven experience in the hospitality and food service industry. This individual must be well organized, a self-starter and someone who has the ability to work independently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Sales Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Vertical Development Executive, Food & Hospitality include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prospect, Acquire and Retain new and existing business in the food service and hospitality verticals, under the Citron Complete (C3) business model.
  • Achieve revenue, activity and sales funnel targets monthly and quarterly
  • Establish, maintain and develop relationships with potential customers who have been identified as target clients in order to meet corporate objectives of profitability and sales growth
  • Analyze customer needs and interests in order to maximize sales volume and identify service requirements
  • Utilization of sales management tools, such as Salesforce.com
  • Prepare and present tailored sales presentations to current or new customers
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of products and services in all 3 primary lines of business, and a strong sense of trends, demands, needs and competitive landscape of the Hospitality and Food Service verticals, Chemical experience an asset
  • All administrative responsibilities as required, from research of a prospect to processing signed service contracts to ensure seamless onboarding of new business.
  • Target segment – SMB in Ontario
  • Time Allocation to be 70% on the road with customers, 30% Administrative office time Other
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-3 years of outside sales in business to business selling experience, prospecting and maintaining accounts (selling service contracts is an asset) in Food-Service & Retail sales channels
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of consultative selling and the sales planning process within the food and hospitality industry
  • Proficient with MS Office and strong overall computer literacy
  • Ability to successfully navigate internally with various departments with tact and diplomacy
  • Superior time management and organization skills
  • Strong negotiation skills with discipline to close
  • A proven track record in building strong customer relationships

Working Conditions:

  • Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
  • Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
